If you're on a block

The letter arrives, the deadline is real, and the grass is already curing. You didn't move to the country to spend weekends on a slasher or to guess what "low fuel load" means. We read your council's Fire Prevention Notice, do exactly what it asks, and hand you the dated photos that show it was done. Sorted, and quietly, every year after.

If you're farming

You know what a break is for. What you need is someone who cuts perimeters properly, on time, without being chased, while you're flat out with everything else the season demands. We book it, cut it, photograph it, done.

The Fire-Ready Package

What we actually do.

Walk-over and fire-risk read. We walk the block before fire season and read the fuel: cured grass, fallen timber, regrowth against fences, the corner nobody mows.
Firebreaks cut to the width your notice specifies, commonly around 10 metres. Notice terms vary by council and by property, so we cut to yours, not to a rule of thumb.
Slashing before the grass cures, so the fuel load drops while it still matters.
A dated photo record you can keep for the council. Same spots, clear frames, date-stamped.
A reminder every spring. You'll hear from us before the letter does.

The Oak Ridge standard

The telling detail others skip: the photo record. Anyone can slash a break. We document that it was done, when, and to what width, so if a question ever comes from the council you have the answer in your back pocket. And we slash the whole approach to the break, not a bare-minimum strip, because a break only works if the fuel beside it is down too.

When should firebreaks be done?

Before the grass cures. In most seasons that means booking in October or November, ahead of notice deadlines.

What if I've already received a notice?

Call us. We prioritise notice work and give you a dated photo record for the council.

Either. Many landholders pair the Fire-Ready Package with slashing or a year-round Estate Care plan, so the block is handled once and stays handled.
