What needs doing?

Everything below is quoted after we've seen the ground, and the quote is the price. If your job isn't listed, call anyway. If we can't do it, we'll tell you who can.

Fence repairs & new fences

Broken wires strained back, rotten posts swapped, storm damage sorted. Or the whole run replaced: ringlock, hinge-joint, electric, and post-and-rail where it needs to look as good as it holds. Posts driven properly with the post driver, strainers that stay put, gates that swing.

Repairs usually by the hour; new fencing costed per metre installed, by fence type.Illustrative

Price fence work

Slashing & mowing

Paddocks, house blocks, driveways and roadsides slashed before the grass cures into a fire load. One-off tidy-ups or booked ahead each season so it never gets away from you. We slash the corners other blokes skip.

Commonly $100 to $150 an hour, or a fixed price for the block after a look.Illustrative

Book slashing

Spraying & weed control

Capeweed taking over the paddock, blackberry along the creek, gorse on the back fence, thistles everywhere after rain. Boom spraying for paddocks, spot spraying for outbreaks. We hold ChemCert / ACUP accreditation and the Commercial Operator Licence Victoria requires for spray work done for fee, and we keep the spray records.

Boom work commonly $9.50 to $22 a hectare plus chemical; spot spraying by the hour.Illustrative

Sort the weeds

Spray days aren't guessed. We schedule with CropWindow — Delta T, wind and rain checked before we book you in.

Firebreaks & fire notices

Got the letter from the council? We read your Fire Prevention Notice, cut breaks to the width it specifies (commonly around 10 metres), slash the fuel down, and hand you a dated photo record you can keep for the council. Book October or November, before the grass cures.

Most 2 to 8 hectare blocks land between $450 and $900 a season.Illustrative

Clean-ups, clearing & mulching

Blackberry thickets, fallen timber, regrowth that has swallowed a fence line, the corner nobody has touched in years. We mulch and clear it back to usable ground and leave it tidy. Where native vegetation is involved, we tell you what needs a permit before anything is touched.

Usually costed by the hour or by the job after a walk-over.Illustrative

Pasture renovation & seeding

Tired, compacted paddocks brought back: soil tested, compaction ripped so water and roots get down, pH corrected off the test, then the right mix direct-drilled in the autumn window. Sown once, properly, instead of patched every second year. How we do it →

Ripping commonly $60 to $180 a hectare; full renovation quoted per paddock.Illustrative

Book a walk-over

Hay cutting & baling

Mow, rake, bale, and cart if you need it. Rounds or squares, cut in the window while the weather holds. If the block grows more than you can use, we turn the surplus into bales instead of a fire load.

Usually costed per bale or per hectare, agreed before the mower starts.Illustrative

Book the cut

Surplus to sell — or short on feed? We buy and sell through haysales.au.

Stock water & earthworks

Troughs plumbed and placed where stock actually walk, laneways formed so gateways survive winter, dam clean-outs, and erosion pulled up before it becomes a gully. The unglamorous work that makes a property function.

Usually costed by the job after a site look.Illustrative
